When was Sugar Grove Christian School (SGCS) established?

Sugar Grove Christian School was established 43 years ago in 1969. It was initially called Sharpstown Christian. Our name was changed when we moved to this location in 1998.

What is the tuition for the 2012‐2013 school year?

Tuition for preschool will be $5,350 per year divided into ten monthly payments of $525. The elementary tuition will be $5,400 per year divided into ten monthly payments of $530.

Why is the tuition so affordable compared to area schools?

SGCS Board of Directors has a desire to provide quality education to all walks of life. We are a non‐profit organization providing academic excellence in a Christian environment.

What other fees are required for registration?

A $250 application fee for each child is due when the application is given to the office. New elementary students will pay a $50 testing fee. All students will pay a $150 supply fee on the first school day in August.

When will registration for the 2012‐2013 school year begin?

Registration for current students will begin Monday, January 23rd. We will begin accepting applications for new students on Monday, January 30th.

How does the application process work for new students?

The preschool positions are filled on a first come, first serve basis. For the elementary, once a completed application including the application form, school records, and teacher recommendations are received, a testing date will be scheduled. After testing the student, an enrollment committee will review all information in order to make a decision on acceptance. A letter of acceptance will be mailed to each applicant from the committee.

Do you have a lunch service at your school?

Yes, healthy meals are brought in by a catering company, Charlie’s Catering Company. Students order meals on a monthly basis. Drinks are not included with the meals. However, students may purchase white or chocolate milk to go with their meal or bring a drink from home.

Do your students wear uniforms?

Yes, our students wear uniforms. We have recently changed our uniform vendor to CFj Manufacturing. This is a new company which caters to Christian schools. They host several on‐site sales at the building and offer online sales through a website

Will students be allowed to wear their Sue Mills uniform next year?

Yes, all Sue Mills clothing will be accepted next year. However, you will not be able to place new orders with Sue Mills.

What if my uniforms don’t arrive before the first day of school?

Every year, there are a few styles that sale out with the uniform stores. Your child is allowed to wear something comparable to the required uniform while you wait for the order to arrive.
